I remember you. You should join us over at http://vivesdd.lefora.com/. I restored Vives with a refreshed set of Haks, and while oldtimers are playing that I am getting a new world up and running. We did some testing of Arnheim last month and will do so agin the second week of January. I suppose I should take a break from all of that, create an Arnheim section on this website, and post all of that information here.... :) Its been awhile.

Hey Magus! I fondly remember our adventures together. You probably remember me as Kalannar Illistynn, the dark skinned elf with light hair (although Dark elves were not permitted as players, but that added to his mystique as a vagabond wanderer and pensive recluse who helped strangers. He was also a pretty accomplished crafter (although not to the level of a couple of your characters. I believe we quested together at least once or twice.

I too fondly remember the days of Vives. The storylines, the moderator coordinated/assisted quests, The courteous comunity of gamers who spun amazing stories and made the vibrant world a wonderful escape from the drudgery of whatever mundane circumstances were the alternative. I remember reading storylines between sales calls and looking forward to an hour or three in the evening to donn my character and perhaps just chat about whatever was happening in Vives because there was always so much going on there.

I haven’t found another gaming community like Vives(1), but perhaps if a new living game world (and suitably alterable game engine) were to sprout up we may find ourselves spinning wonderful stories again. Lately I’ve been checking in with a friend in Minecraft when time allows, and 1nsyte has created an immense “tree of life” on the small server I use with a dear friend.

Well if there’s anything you need let me know. I’ll help anyway I can. I actually remember running Zubeida through the desert lol. That was so long ago. I actually like nwn 1 more than 2 but I’ll play either. How much do we need for a server? Not sure if you guys rented or bought one.

Hey Brent. I remember you from when I started Vives. You – as Tomi – escorted Zubeida on her first trip IG through the Kobai. Anyway, we’re all dreaming. If I had the time, I would certainly start building Vives 2 and put it up live. But I just don’t have the time. However Chief is working on a mod for some Vivesish game night play. When i get to it, I’ll build a website for this group of folks. The main lack right now however is a server. Cecil died, and each of us lacks an adequate situation to host a PW. Someday soon that may change for me, but until then we’re waiting on Chief to kick off game night.

Am I dreaming or are you guys really talking about a vives 2!? With Fat Sam, Vulpina, Cora Delving, etc.? I realize characters wont carry over but…. that vives? I just wanna make sure because I’ve been wishing I could go back to those times for quite awhile. I’m soooo there. by the way this is Oragastus / Tomi Swiftfoot

It is great to see so much interest. I think a game night could be successful. If a few of you showed up at each session. I know Chief is still working away on the mod for the sessions he wants to run. I however have been working overtime so have had no time for House of the Magus let alone building a Beyond Vives website to kick off this next stage. Work shows no sign of letting up soon, but I’ll do what I can to get a new website out. Either that or Ficcy will roll one. Who knows?
